Jesus was NOT a community organizer.
You’ve probably heard the most recent bit of nonsense from the Obama Supporters, “Jesus was a community organizer, Pilate was a governor”. It is such an absurd statement that one would think no one would attempt to use it as an actual campaign talking point. Sadly, this isn’t so. So, please, allow me to rebut this absurd statement:
First, the term “community organizer” is something a euphemism. I’ve got a friend whose official title is “loss prevention tactical specialist”. He’s a security guard. The term “community organizer” isn’t much different. They do varying degrees of two things:
1. Register people to vote in poor areas (great for keeping incumbents in office).
2. Spend taxpayer money on said poor areas. For example, a community organizer might suddenly decide the local rec center needs a new ping pong table.
Community organizers are also employed by the local government. Generally when someone allocates taxpayer funds to a specific neighborhood while simultaneously encouraging them to vote, we’d call that “buying votes”. However, we won’t in this case since we’ve got that lovely term “community organizing” instead.
Jesus, on the other hand:
1. Regularly defied local government (pharisees) rather than worked for them.
2. Never registered anyone to vote.
3. Never allocated taxpayer funds to anything.
If I were a christian, I’d probably be offended by these statements. Perhaps that is the point of this silliness – not to make any legitimate point but to offend. With the ever diminishing pool of brainpower that Obama Supporters draw from, it becomes more and more difficult to find motive or reason in their actions. Perhaps it’s time we stop looking.

America Vs. Obama 
Well, yes, Jesus was a community organizer in the grandest sense of community.
What He founded continues today as a worldwide community under His namesake, Christianity. There may be different parts of that community, but for all of us who call ourselves Christians, their commonality is Christ Jesus.
The New Testatment is replete with instances of Christian communities in places like Phillipi, Corinth, Ephesus and other places.
So, please, Jesus was a community organizer.
That said, to compare Christ Jesus to a modern-day community organizer such as Barack Obama claims to have been is a bit bizarre, though understandable, given the secular sources from whence it comes.
And to compare Sarah Palin to Pontius Pilate is even more bizarre. Again, though, given the ignorance of the secular sources from whence it comes, we should dismiss it.
BTW: As a Christian, I’m not offended by these statments. They come from ignorance. We’ve all been ignorant at some time or another.
Thing is, there is a cure for ignorance. But stupidity? Well, that’s tougher.
And given the level of ignorance in America about the Christ and the general level of hatred of Him and Christianity, it makes civil discussion about this very difficult.
By that logic, if Jesus was a community organizer, so was Anton La Vey. There are “communities” of Satanists all around the world.
Jesus was a spiritual teacher and he had some gathering, but he didn’t rally the community to DO anything for the community. He rallied the people to a spiritual belief that they could share, but that is not the same thing as organizing the community itself. Jesus addressed souls, not material goals for the neighborhood.
Comparisons of Obama to the Messiah by the Obama camp are unintentionally funny.
Sarah Palin as governor has never ordered anyone crucified, so I think the analogy not only collapses, it pancakes right about there.
Obama and his job as a community organizer had something in common with Christ as both catered to the poor and common people. Governors often do the opposite as they seek power.

As to the ‘general level of hatred of Him (Christ) and Christianity’ — What country do you live in? or planet- I think I’m safe in saying no “Christ hater” could be elected as dog catcher in the US. Apparently you think everyone should be as religious as you.
What!!!!, community organizers do not “cater” to the poor, their entire purpose is to help incumbents stay in power. It’s a sham. They bribe the economically vulnerable with taxpayer dollars in exchange for votes.
Furthermore, you did not read my post. I very specifically said I was non-religious yet you still managed to come to the conclusion: “Apparently you think everyone should be as religious as you.”
Let this be a lesson. Read the argument before you respond to it or you risk looking like a fool.
So now the moonbats are openly comparing Obama to Jesus Christ.

About 20 years ago in the windy city of Casper, Wyoming, I was privileged to serve among a group of ‘community organizers.’ These men and women served at the local mission, helped in latchkey school programs and we got involved in politics teaching on free enterprise and the constitution, helped register voters, and ran for precinct chairs all for the betterment of our communities. And we did it for free. Our pastors encouraged us to get off our blessed assurances and make a difference in our community. We knew what they preached and it wasn’t anti-American nor did they call us white folk ‘prosperity pimps’. My mentor was a hockey mom and I toted my Down Syndrome son around while doing these Random Acts of Kindness.
Meanwhile in the windy city of Chicago, Barack Obama was doing his own ‘organizing’ involving himself for a paltry $12,000 salary (coming from taxpayer subsidies) for doing what? Serving soup? Mr. Obama has not yet answered to the public about his involvement with the far-left ACORN, Bill Ayers and those who masquerade as clergy. I guess that is why he has some skewed ideas about what service really is. I am not surprised why in the recent Service Nation Summit he promoted offering college tuition credits to students for community service. Maybe he should use the acronym IDRC for his big idea. It means – I Don’t Really Care; I’m Doing it to Reduce my College tuition. Maybe he can enlist the IDRC’s from liberal colleges to get more bogus voter registrations as ACORN has in over 12 states! I think Barack Obama owes an apology to those of us who have and continue to serve from the heart in communities all over this nation. Worse yet to use his questionable service activities and his 143 days in the U.S. Senate as a qualification for the executive office of President.
I know Jesus, Jesus is a Friend of mine, Senator Obama is no Jesus.
I would just like to add that it wasn’t Pilate who sentenced Jesus to death, it was the “community”. Pilate let the people decide Jesus’ fate, and THEY decided to crucify him, not Pilate. Pilate was just doing as the people asked. Just saying…

I’m a life-long democrat, a “Hillary Democrat” and I’m planning to vote for McCain not out of support for a republican candidate, but to voice my opposition to obama and his lack of credibility, poor character, lies, acquaintances, history, lack of history and all the other issuse that surround him from Larry sinclai to not being sure whether he’s a natural born citizen or not. I’m not fond of his wife either. The two kids are cute and I hope they have good lives as they grow up, they can use all the hope and prayer they can get considering who their parents are!
